The victim alleged that the youth sexually exploited her for three years and when she asked him for marriage, the accused threatened her.
In a shameful incident, a teenager raped a 34-year-old man on the pretext of marriage in the Balapur area of Hyderabad. Balapur police have now arrested the accused.
The accused has been booked for rape and cheating. The accused, who runs a garment shop, met the victim from Balapur and entered into a relationship around three years ago.
According to a report in Times of India, the accused later rented a room in Shaheen Nagar area and started meeting the woman there.
However, an argument broke out between the two when the woman asked the teenager to marry her. The man threatened the woman over when she asked for marriage.
Disappointed by his rejection, the woman approached the police and filed a case of rape and cheating against him.
“We have arrested the accused and filed rape and cheating charges against him. The man will be sent to judicial remand,” the report quoted Balapur Inspector B Bhaskar as saying.
In a similar incident reported from Maharashtra’s Aurangabad, a policeman was arrested after he allegedly raped a college student by promising to marry her.
The accused policeman was identified as 32-year-old Ravindra Dabhade. The cop’s arrest came after the victim filed the case on August 1.
The arrest of the cop was delayed as he was admitted to a quarantine centre after he came in contact with a COVID-19 patient. The cop also allegedly filed the sexual act with the student.
The constable has been booked for rape and other sections of the Information Technology Act.
